Meeting location

The meeting will be held at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (DI&T).  The location of DI&T can be found here. For access info, please check this link. More points of interest can be found on a customized Google map.

To get to the meeting location, enter the main DI&T building through the main entrance (after the stairs, straight in front of you). The meeting will be held in the Department's conference room, A56. To get there, you will need to go up the stairs and then follow the signs (after the stairs, you need to turn once right, then left, right and left for a total of 40m walking).

Travel - transportation arrangements

From the Athens airport

The Athens International Airport is located 27 km southeastern of Athens. Public transport is provided by:

• The Athens Metro (subway) line 3, to Egaleo (blue line). Frequency: every 30 minutes.

• Suburban train, to the Main train terminal of Athens (Larissis).

• Express Airport Bus connections with the Athens center on a 24-hour basis. Buses leave the airport terminal every ~15 minutes. Most relevant lines are X93 (to Bus terminal "Kifissos" for destinations outside Athens), X95 (to Athens downtown "Syntagma") and X96 (to Pireaus).

Athens International Airport -> Athens, "Evangelismos" area: "Evangelismos" is a hospital, which has given its name to a Metro stop (blue line, i.e. line 3), and is near the Hilton Hotel, and the National Gallery. The best way is to use the Metro (subway) line 3, and get off at "Evangelismos" stop.  Metro Timetable: 05:30-24:00.

Taxis: the taxi stand extends from Door 4 to Door 1 at the Arrivals Level. The taxi fare from the airport to the city center is about 40 Euros, depending on the time (day or night) and the traffic load. In case you choose the X95 Syntagma - Athens Airport Express bus line, you should get off at the Hilton Bus Stop.

Social Event

The social event will take place on Thursday evening at the restaurant "Attikos Mina" which is located downtown Athens (7 Garivaldi St., Acropolis), at the southern side of the Acropolis ancient citadel.  The restaurant can be easily reached from the "Acropolis" Metro Station (Red Line) within 15' min. walk.  The suggested route from the metro station to the restaurant is through the pedestrian zone of "Dionysiou Areopagitou" and can be found here.
